Discipline Policy

The policies on discipline are designed to encourage positive behavior.  We strive to instill the understanding that all choices have consequences.  If one chooses to talk when they shouldn't, for example, there are consequences.  Followingare a list of our typical consequesces.

I follow a simple "three strikes and you're out" policy.

STRIKE 1: Warning.  Student is addressed and advised of the issue.

STRIKE 2:  Verbal Reprimand.  Three concurrent verbal reprimands will result in parent conference.  Additional appropriate interventions may be taken  to address the issue. (an example might be changing seating)

STRIKE 3: Referral - The most serious disciplinary action.  The student is referred to the Assistant Principal's office for appropriate disciplinary action.  Offenses include, but are not limited to, continued disruptive behavior, disrespectful attitude, fighting, etc.

More serious offenses may require immediate escalation of disciplinary action. (Fighting, bullying, intimidation, etc.)
